Celebrating Difference, Empowering Community
“It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.” ~ Audre Lorde
Welcome to CARE
CARE is a nonprofit mental health organization emphasizing a global perspective of development across the lifespan and an understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism, diversity, and social justice. CARE is committed to accomplishing this through the interconnectedness of teaching, research, service and professional practice through the development of collaborative partnerships and projects, research, presentations, consultation, and training.
CARE is an ambitious organization, working hard to raise enough funds to open a donation-based counseling center for Los Angeles youth. Yes, this means CARE hopes to open the doors to a counseling center where clients can see the same counselor--for as many sessions as they want--and pay what they can afford. This would mean that every child and adolescent in Los Angeles would have access to high quality services, regardless of their economic situation.
CARE's efforts are possible because of generous support from our donors. Your contribution helps CARE make a difference. Learn more about how to give.
CARE's volunteer staff works together to help educate communities and foster discussion on mental health from a multicultural standpoint. Our volunteers make all the difference.
CARE’s educational events are truly unique. They consist of panel discussions, brown bag lunches, fundraising events, and trainings for mental health professionals.
